Jodi & Matt

Date of Wedding: 20th November 2021

Location: The Peak Edge Hotel, Chesterfield

Can you tell me briefly your love story? How did you meet? How long have you been together and how did the proposal happen?

“We met at school at the start of year nine in our English class at Dronfield Henry Fanshaw when we were 13 & 14 years old! We will have been together 12 years this year in May. Matt proposed on Christmas Day 2018 (I never thought the day would come haha!) It was our first Christmas in our first home together and he popped the question before everyone arrived for us to host Christmas dinner. I was over the moon, it was so lovely it just being us two together as we don’t like a lot of fuss and it couldn’t have happened on a better day as I am Christmas mad!!!”

Can you tell me about your wedding day? Why did you choose your venue? Who were the suppliers involved?

“Our wedding day obviously had to be Christmas themed (poor Matt knew it had to be). We fell in love with Peak Edge because the style of it was very us. As soon as we saw it, it had such a lovely feel to it. It was sooo heartbreaking when we had to postpone due to Covid but now we say everything happens for a reason because they managed to renovate the hotel during the time they had to close. We never imagined we could love the venue even more but oh wow it was even more beautiful than before! Luckily all our lovely suppliers were available for our new date (one year later). Georgia & Chelsea from Cavál studio did all the girls make-up and Annie Milner & her sister Verity did all our hair so beautifully – it was such a lovely morning. Wilde Flowers in Dronfield supplied our beautiful flowers and Rich at VintageVolks came to take us from my mum and dads to Peak Edge in the beautiful beetle (Jenny) and olive green campervan (Harry). We also decided to have our videographer Andrew from Tregoning Weddings who was sooo lovely! Andrew and Sarah work amazingly together and made us feel so comfortable as they capture the day as it is. We had a lot of our own venue decor so Laura and the Team at Peak Edge were so lovely and helpful and put everything out for us. It was also lovely to have an old school friend who is now the professional Jordan Maycock magician with us for the day. He took on the role of our master of ceremonies to help make our day run smoothly and kept our guests entertained during the quieter moments. We also had an amazing cake made by Rose at The Pink Cake Box!”

And how was the party at night?!

“The party at night was amazing! We literally didn’t stop dancing all night, it was definitely worth the wait! Mark and Nikki from Wild Wedding Days created us our welcome sign telling everyone we had waited an extra year for this and to party accordingly – which we definitely did!”

Finally, how did you find the photography element? What was your experience of having Sarah photograph your day and the final product you received?

“Sarah is amazing at what she does! The first person we messaged to check availability was Sarah. She had photographed my sisters wedding back in 2017 so we knew we needed her to make our day perfect. It’s like having another friend there helping your day go as smooth as possible. She manages to make you feel so comfortable – me and Matt aren’t normally ones to like our photo taken but the way Sarah captures the moments is very natural and we had such a laugh. We received a slide show of our images shortly after the wedding which we can’t stop watching – it makes us so emotional and we want to relive the day all over again! Our images are beautiful, they really capture the love, happiness, laughs and little details of our day! We also received a memory stick and photo book of all our images which is a lovely keep sake! We honestly couldn’t have chosen a more amazing, friendly just overall lovely lady to capture our special day – we couldn’t recommend Sarah enough. Thank you so much for capturing our everlasting memories so perfectly, which we can now treasure forever!
Thankyou
Jodi & Matt xxx”
