Hannah + Michael got married on the 13th October 2018. I started the day at their Air BnB they had rented in the heart of Sheffield with all the girls busily getting ready and Hannah’s sister making the final touches to the dress. What an amazing dress it was too, Hannah hails from an incredibly talented family. I adored this 1930′s style dress made from an original pattern (it wasn’t the easiest item of clothing ever to be made I am told) BUT it was so worth it, and it was no doubt the most perfect dress for Hannah.
Hair & Make-up on the day was by my lovely friend Julia Jeckell, who was able to create the most beautiful styling to compliment the whole look. When Hannah first got in the dress and the red lipstick was applied the whole look totally came together. Along with the flowers from Plantology everything looked stunning. I have to also mention the veil made by Hannah’s lovely Mum – I have honestly never seen such an amazingly fabulous one!
One of my favourite moments to capture was the moment Hannah’s Mum & Dad first saw her, capturing raw emotion rather than staged shots is always my aim at weddings and these moments are ones to be cherished.
I set off shortly afterwards to Wood Lane Countryside Centre, which is quickly becoming one of my favourite Sheffield wedding venues to photograph at. I am a sucker for a beams, bunting and fairy lights, and this place has these in abundance. I found Michael and his best men, they seemed pretty relaxed and looked rather dapper in their suits.
Hannah & her bridesmaids arrived in impeccable style in their VW Camper Van and VW Beetle thanks to Vintage VolksWeddings, again these were the perfect addition to the wedding and the shots of Hannah arriving are for me reminiscent of a 1930′s Hollywood film.
The ceremony, the rest of the day and into the evening was filled with laughter, dancing and much merriment. The first dance started the evening shenanigans amazingly, and what a first dance it was!! xx
