I can’t tell you how much I was looking forward to the wedding of Rhi & Sam. When I first met these lovely guys and their beautiful dog Bonnie, I was immediately welcomed into their home and got to know the both of them really well. I was very excited to document their vision and totally unique wedding day.
The date was the 29th September 2018, and I started at Rhi’s family home with her Mum & Dad and two bridesmaids. Rhi was busy doing her own make-up and the KMR gown was still secretly hidden in it’s bag – I was dying to see this as Kelly’s creations are always so stunning and I couldn’t wait to photograph a real bride wearing one! It did not disappoint of course and looked absolutely gorgeous with the amazing blooms created by Laura from Flourish. Rhi is friends with Laura so the fact that Laura still created her bouquet despite being so close to giving birth, meant I know the world to Rhi.
The first venue for the day was Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, I’d never photographed a wedding here before so was again, very excited!! It’s such an interesting and aesthetically pleasing setting. I love the idea of being immersed in a piece of history on your wedding day. The ceremony was watched by just the couple’s closest family and friends, so there was a lovely intimate feel about the whole thing, and coupled with all the beautiful music that had been carefully selected to complement the proceedings everything was just perfect.
Then onto a whole new setting, with lots more people joining them and a totally different vibe in the form of a Tipi in a field at Stoney Bank Farm in a gorgeous setting just on the outskirts of Sheffield. The Tipi had been amazingly decorated and again lots of thought and planning had gone into making it look as good as it did.
Shortly after arriving at the farm guests were led by Rhi & Sam to the hay bales to witness a more personal celebration of the love between them. There were emotional notes aplenty, with personal vows, hand tying and a surprise performance from father of the bride and his accompanying band-mates.
Everybody then headed back towards the tipi to enjoy an evening of good food, drinks and dancing, O and cake eating, did I mention there was A LOT of cake
I love you guys, thanks so much for trusting me to photograph your amazing day xx
