Mel & Steve

Back in September, before beautiful Archie had arrived, I had the great pleasure in photographing Mel & Steves’ wedding. This wedding definitely had it all with a few dramas in the mix just to add to the fun of it all. The dress being locked up in the dress alteration shop and not open again till after the wedding was a bit of a shaky start to events but when they finally got the dress back to Mel things were definitely back on track to it being the perfect day… Just a handful of Mel & Steves’ nearest and dearest friends were invited to this special day, and I was delighted to return the bridesmaid favour (along with the the fabulous Gwen of course!) to my best mate, and don a beautiful teal dress as Mel did for my wedding day 5 years previously… For me this day was going to be somewhat trickier juggling bridesmaid’s duties, a camera and an 8 month old ;) I have to say I have never ever been to a wedding where the bride drives herself to the wedding with no Sat Nav signal and no idea of the way, a slightly distressed but adorable daughter Jessica in the back and a Tesco delivery driver blocking the way en-route – this is a car journey I will never forget! We arrived at the beautiful wedding ceremony setting, The Priests House in Bolton Abbey near Skipton where fortunately for us the generous registrar let the marriage go ahead despite our 30 minute delay ;) What a day… after a lovely meal and speeches delivered by the most fabulous of best men Dave & Steve we headed back to our gorgeous bed and breakfast Linton Laithe in the stunning Yorkshire Dales, where we ate lots more lovely food and Mel and Steve cut the fab cake from Fancie – which had been beautifully repaired (at a cost -that’s another story) by the local Chef after accidentally being dropped by Mel ;) Everybody danced the night away and it was the perfect, perfect day…
