2017 was another year of very many beautiful and varied weddings. A wedding couple that booked me this year told me on booking me that they picked me because my images showed ‘happy people’. I love that they said this, I’m all for an arty moody shot but if I can capture the actual happiness & emotion of the day then this is everything for me. I’m looking forward to an even busier 2018 and capturing more of those real moments xx
Lauren & Elliot got married on the 25th November 2017 at Mosborough Hall Hotel in Sheffield. My day started at Lauren’s parents house where hair and make-up was in full swing. Lauren was particluarly excited at the prospect of wearing her sparkly Laboutin shoes – no wonder they were gorgeous! The dresses where hanging beautifully on the rail made by Elliot – Lauren told me she’d kept seeing things and on telling her clever husband-to-be he was able to re-create them.
One of my favourite moments during the preparations was Lauren presenting her gift to her proud Dad. I totally love that he was completely made-up by the cufflinks regardless of the fact that he couldn’t see them too well without his glasses on! It was a lovely special moment between father and daughter and there were tears shed.
Shortly after Lauren was in the dress I headed off to Mosborough Hall to meet the groomsmen. They were very nervous at this stage of the day, I’m not sure who was most nervous Elliot or his best man! Lauren arrived soon afterwards though and the service got underway – everybody got their words right and the nerves seemed to be easing off.
After the ceremony we headed outside for some confetti throwing and the group shots. It did try to rain but I think we managed to dodge the worst of it! I then took Lauren & Elliot off for some shots of just the two of them. There was some grass to be walked upon and Lauren was not risking damaging THE shoes, so Elliot kindly offered his new wife a piggy back – I’m so pleased he did I love this shot!
Then onto the (emotional!) speeches and the wedding breakfast, and the arrival after the meal of the magician – whom provided a lot of entertainment.
There was no formal first dance at this wedding but I’m so pleased I was able to capture that lovely little group performing to ‘Thriller’! I had a great time thanks for having me! x
